statistics:
The frequency distribution is dividing the data into groups or classes and shows the number of observations in each class. The frequency distribution is usually graphically represented by histogram or frequency polygon. For example: 10 students received following grades from last test: 1, 2, 4, 1, 5, 2, 5, 3, 1, 5. The grades are our data and it can be divided into 5 classes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. This can be represented by the frequency distribution histogram: Or by the frequency polygon: See also: relative frequency, cumulative frequency, , Cite this article as: Marian Olejar, Jr.: frequency distribution from VeryPrime's Dictionary of mathematics Link to this page: http://www.veryprime.com/dict/frequency_distribution.php |
